I was late, I really was. I called Janice and said I will be late. But that didn't stop me from panicking. I was on my way to Jurong East, but I stopped at Lavendar.
It didn't hit me that there might be a massive jam.
Nevertheless, I stormed out of Lavendar, to get a cab. Near the bus station, there was a guy who glanced at me when he saw me. I was worried, and I was late.
I spied a taxi stand, and I walked there. It was near, just across the traffic light and a bit further. I was walking, fast, desperate to get there. I was late, the cabs were right there, I was reaching the one thing that may just save my interview.
And suddenly, I felt this gentle pat on my shoulder, and I spun around, angry. Who would dare to interrupt me?
There, a very good looking guy, the guy from the bus stop, held my earring on his palm and he offered it back to me. I was shocked, I was embarassed by my way to welcome his kind gesture, to a complete stranger.
And his smile, the sweetest I've ever seen, that keeps popping up in my head every time I think of it. It was so sweet, so sincere. I was speechless, as cliche as it seems.
I was taken aback by his kindness. Really, I was. It makes me happy to know that there are still good people like him.
Thank you, stranger.
ps: No, I didn't get his number, thus the 'stranger'.
