World Cup 2010-Spain.

Finally. Like finally. Spain won the title. I would have been happy if The Oranje won, but I am happier that Spain won.


I've been rooting for Spain ever since 2002, back where it was held in Japan/Korea, when I first laid my eyes on Raul Gonzalez. Yes, he didn't play this time. But I remembered his epic way of celebrating his goals. He'd run around and kiss his wedding ring.


I was taken by that romantic gesture, and I've been a fan since. Thus my fav club: Real Madrid. Yes, it was because of that smokin' guy.


4 years ago, I didn't watch the WC. It was SPM year and hello, I was living in a hostel. No tv time during the weekdays. Except for fridays but even the tv has a limit.


But then, Spain didn't manage to go that far pun. Round 16, then lost to France. Oh well. Bukan nasib I guess.

But this year, boy was I super excited. Although knowing that Raul won't be playing, I still look forward to watch them. But of course, after weeks and month looking forward to their first ever match against Switzerland, to which I watched through out, They lost.


I had a hard time sleeping that night. Honestly. I was devastated.


But then I remembered, back in 2002, they made it to quarter finals. South Korea won penalty. That was the first time I watched them play through out. From the beginning to the end. And they lost.

So I refused to watch them play against Honduras. And hey, they won. So I missed out on Chile. And they won.


I missed out on Portugal, which they won again, and up to the top. The very last, the very end, the final match. I stayed up till 430 am to watch Desperate Housewives on the net. I checked on9, no goals scored.


I slept, and at 6 plus, I found myself so groggy and sleepy. I couldn't wake up to go online and find out the results. So I slept back, only to find myself questioning whether Holland or Spain would win-in pictures.


In my dreams, vividly flashing, came all sorts of things. I dreamt of Holland winning, and then it sort of got refreshed, then I saw Spain winning. Actually, it was all my head thinking on which team won.

Yes, I am a La Roja supporter, but I liked Holland. It was a match which I'd love to see who won. And in fact, I'd be happy whichever won. Netherlands, or Spain.


Though I would be happier if Spain won, hehe.

And it was frustrating that day. I was fasting and all, you see. And having not enough sleep is just too much for the body to handle. It was tormenting, not knowing whether Spain won or not. I dreamt of Iniesta, I dreamt that Spain won by 1 goal, I dreamt that Holland won 3:2, I dreamt all that is Yellow, Red, and Orange.


Depressed, at about 11 plus, I woke up. went online and opened up Mozilla. Saved my fav websites, so fb popped out immediately. I saw Chewy's wall post saying: Congrats to your team.



I screamed and clapped(alone on the room) and went on to fifa website to check the score and the goal.

Oh God, I was so happy.


But when I tried to watch the recorded game, they stopped at the 90th minute. I was like szwihkasjgaVjewagk.


Missed the goal. Takpelah, I said. I continued my DH journey, till maghrib, got a super headache after, and at midnight, I watched the game(encore).


It was a beautiful game with 14(?) yellow cards flown all over. A bit boring cause there were a lot of pushing, nudging, pulling, falling, cramping, ouching, shouting, yellow-carding. But Iniesta was brilliant.


And when the final whistle was blown, it was Iker Casillas' tears, it was Iniesta's kneel with hand overflown saying, thank you God and it was Arjen Robben's ultimate look, like as if he has lost all, that made me cry.


It was a deserved game, and I hate it that they couldn't share the titile.


Oh sigh. But it was nice to see Casillas getting his hands on the trophy. He saved a lot of goals for that. Sad thing, Raul wasn't a part of it. But he will be, a part of me(hehehe).:)


Oh, but then, what happens to Pique?



No, I am not gonna deny this growing crush I have for Pique. I don't always go for DFs, normally Villa(forward) would be my typical pick, but hands up high, how can you not like this?




Sweet mamma, I'm gonna pass out right now. But I chose him over this?
